Mental Health First Aid Feb 2026 Course

Become a Certified MHFAider® this February — spaces limited

I’m excited to open registrations for my first public MHFA England course of 2026: a fully accredited Mental Health First Aid course. Whether you want to support others professionally, in your community, or simply feel more equipped to respond to mental‑health difficulties, this training gives you the tools, knowledge and confidence to step in safely and compassionately.

What is MHFA / Why this matters

  • The course is provided under licence from MHFA England, the national authority for mental‑health first aid in England — the only organisation offering licensed MHFA instructor training in the country.

  • The goal: to give people the practical skills to recognise signs of mental ill‑health, start supportive conversations, and guide individuals toward further help and support if needed.

  • MHFA is often described as the mental‑health equivalent of physical first aid — supporting people early, reducing stigma, and promoting safe, supportive environments.

Completing this course gives you:

  • The knowledge to recognise common mental health challenges, distress signals, and crisis indicators (anxiety, depression, trauma, self‑harm, crisis etc.)

  • Confidence to start supportive conversations about mental health, using skills like active listening, empathy and safe, stigma‑free language

  • The ability to signpost people toward appropriate professional or community support — without needing to “fix” or “diagnose” them yourself. MHFAider’s role is “first aid,” not therapy.

  • Practical tools: a Workbook, Manual, ALGEE action plan reference card, ongoing access to support via the MHFAider Support App®, and membership in a national community of trained first‑aiders.

  • A recognised certification (valid for three years), which may support your work, volunteering, or personal development, and signal to employers or organisations your commitment to mental‑health awareness and support.

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to be better equipped to support mental health — whether you are:

  • A manager, team lead, HR or wellbeing professional

  • Working in community organisations, charities, social care, education, or youth support

  • A coach, mentor, volunteer, educator or colleague who wants to make a difference

  • An individual wanting to support friends, family, or community members

  • Someone who simply wants to increase their confidence, mental‑health literacy, and ability to respond helpfully if someone is struggling
